Option A

Your task is to make a podcast episode about the way you speak, and how it relates to who you are.

To take part, you’ll need something to record on: this could be a phone or a digital recording device. If you don’t have something to record on, speak to your teacher.

You might find it useful to have a set of earphones or headphones, but this isn’t essential. We also recommend getting hold of a kitchen sponge (the ordinary kind that you’d use to do this dishes) and a rubber band, if you can – you’ll find out why you need these soon!

You will be making between 2 and 5 recordings on the theme of language and identity, and sending them to your teacher. Your teacher will tell you how they’d like you to transfer the files.

Work your way through parts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 in order. You will probably need to go back and look at some sections more than once.

If you get lost at any point, or need to find a particular page, there is a full outline of the course in the site menu under ‘Course content for pupils’. You will find this menu on every page. If you’re on a computer, this will probably appear on the right of each page. If you’re on a phone or tablet, you’ll probably need to scroll down to the bottom of the page to find it.
